Left examples have the keyword "help" on the OEBP.

On the OEBP we aim to collect interesting ideas for Bongard Problems; we want to have one page per idea rather than having many different pages for the same idea showing slightly different choices of examples. However, we do want to include different pages for slight variations on ideas, if those variations are interesting. One can find many slight variations on similar ideas on the OEBP. For example, there is a page for "even number of shapes vs odd number of shapes" (BP202) and there is also a page for "even number of dots vs odd number of dots" (BP334). The rule of thumb: a page on the OEBP is an instruction manual for adding more examples to that Bongard Problem. If all possible examples for a new Bongard Problem idea would fit the same way as they would in an existing page on the OEBP and vice versa, the two ideas are the same idea.

"Helpfulness" is on the very borderline of what might considered part of a BP idea. We have decided "helpfulness" is part of the idea of a Bongard Problem. There is a potential different version of any helpful problem that is not helpful. For example, BP384 would be a completely different problem (much harder) if all examples weren't arranged in a way that communicates the idea "square number" helpfully.

Problems should only be marked as helpful if all examples on at least one side are helpful, rather than if only one or two examples are helpful.
